Adriana Portillo Was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. She graduated from Austin High School in May 1999 and began college soon after. She got her Associate’s Degree in May 2006 from El Paso Community College, and soon transferred to the University of Texas at El Paso to pursue her Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education. Adriana will be graduating this December and is looking forward to beginning her career as a Special Education teacher. She began working for La Fe Preparatory School as an AmeriCorps member, and through AmeriCorps she assisted the Special Ed Coordinator providing tutoring for students with special academic needs. Adriana is currently a Paraprofessional with the school and enjoys working with her students every day. Adriana is the middle child of three. She is happily married to her high school sweetheart and recently became a mother to a healthy baby boy. She enjoys spending most of her time with him and her husband. Adriana’s interest includes cookouts, collecting dolls and stuffed animals, watching movies (especially cartoons or Disney movies), listening to music, and socializing with friends. Adriana hopes that her time in La Fe is priceless and is excited to see what changes the new school year will bring.
